MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee's men's golfer Marcus Byrd has been named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Byrd was honored for the second time in his career and it's the second week in a row the Blue Raiders have brought home the award.
Byrd matched Middle Tennessee's 54-hole scoring record with a 203 (67-68-68) at the Bearcat Invitational, leading to a tie for third individually and a fourth-place finish for the Blue Raiders. The 12-team field included powers Illinois, Ohio State and Louisville, as Byrd rose to the occasion and recorded a personal-best 67 in the first round.
