MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – For the third time this semester and fifth time in his career, Middle Tennessee senior Marcus Byrd has been named Conference USA Golfer of the Week following his individual title at Mississippi State's Old Waverly Collegiate Championship.
Byrd was sensational this week at Old Waverly Golf Club, firing three consecutive under par rounds on the way to matching his career low and the school record 54-hole total at 13-under par 203 (70-66-67).
"What a week for Marcus," head coach Mark McEntire said. "He just dominated another really good field and made a case to be the player of the year in the conference.
