MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After an injury-ridden start to her senior season in the fall, Blue Raider women's golfer has fired back strong to start the spring in hopes of making the most of her final campaign.
A 1-under par performance at this week's River Landing Classic that earned her a tie for second place in the field of 89 golfers has now netted the Manchester, Tenn., native Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Burris was able to compete in just five rounds in the fall due to her injury, rest and rehab in the offseason has her back on track as she fired six birdies in the opening round at River Landing to lead the entire field.
