FRANKLIN, Tenn. – After a blistering start to the season, Middle Tennessee women's golf cooled off Friday as it struggled in the opening round of the Mason Rudolph Championship with a score of 15-over par 303.

Senior Hanley Long and sophomore Sophie Burks led the way for the Blue Raiders on day one, posting matching rounds of 2-over 74 to land in a tie for 39th individually through 18 holes.

As the day neared its end with only six groups remaining on the course the tournament went into a short rain delay before play finished up at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
