MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Since opening in 1972, Middle Tennessee has had plenty of big moments and victories in the historic Murphy Center.
The Blue Raiders reached another milestone Wednesday night.
With a 96-82 win over visiting Mars Hill (1-1), MT (3-0) secured its 500th victory all-time at the famed arena.
"I'm happy with that win," Raiders head coach Nick McDevitt said. "I thought Mars Hill played very well … and they can really throw it in the basket.
"We knew they wouldn't be intimidated by the fact that we're a Division I team or that we have a big arena.
