Blue Raiders Fall to Southern Miss on Senior Day

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee baseball was shut out for the second straight game on Saturday, dropping its final regular season game of the 2022 season 10-0 to Southern Miss at Reese Smith Jr. Field.

The Blue Raiders (29-24, 17-13 C-USA) struggled at the plate, only managing three hits on the afternoon, while USM scored in five of the game's nine frames. The Golden Eagles (41-14, 23-7 C-USA) had four extra base hits and walked six times on Saturday, posing a constant scoring threat in addition to their sharp pitching.

"That was the best staff we saw all year," head coach Jim Toman said of USM's pitchers.
