KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis opened play at the ITA Regional Championships in Knoxville, Tenn on Wednesday.
MTSU started the day off with a doubles win.
Sana Garakani and Noelle Mauro took down Tennessee State's Warona Mdlulwa and Franka Sindici 8-2 to give the Blue Raiders their first win of the day. The duo advanced to the next round of doubles in the qualifying draw on Thursday. A win Thursday morning will place Garakani and Mauro into the main draw of doubles.
In the first round of singles, Love-Star Alexis defeated Anja Trbeznik (Lipscomb) 6-3, 6-2, tallying the first singles win for MTSU.
