MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee softball cruised in the circle and came through with time hits at the plate, easily dispatching UTSA 5-0 on Saturday at Blue Raider Softball Field to take the series.
MTSU (32-15, 11-8 C-USA) scored first for the second game in a row this series, with Julia Garcia scoring Laura Mealer from second with an RBI-single to center field in the bottom of the first after a scoreless top half from starter Kamryn Carcich kept the Roadrunners (8-37, 3-16 C-USA) at bay.
The 1-0 lead was doubled in the bottom of the second, when Amaya Harris came around to score all the way from first base on Shelby Echols two-out double.
