Blackman's boys remained unbeaten in district play, defeating the Oakland Patriots 57-44 Monday in front of a capacity crowd, in a battle that lived up to every bit of its hype.
"This was a great, great environment tonight for two Rutherford County schools," said Blackman head coach Barry Wortman. "It's neat for the community to come out and support two great basketball programs, and that was great to see and hopefully it continues. And I was really proud that two great teams both came out and played hard and played with a purpose."
It was a game that saw 14 lead changes, and until a Blaze run midway through the fourth quarter, the largest lead was four.
