Blackman's soccer team pulled out a 3-1 overtime victory over rival Oakland on Thursday night to win the Region 4-AAA championship.
Blaze forward Luke Buckley kicked two goals to help give his team the edge, and forward Kobe Srisorath sealed the win with a goal of his own.
"I thought I was going to be offside, but he didn't call it," Srisorath said. "So I was keeping my composure against one of the best keepers in the state. I was pretty nervous, game on the line, and that goal was kind of a dagger the game."
In the first five minutes of the contest the Blaze offense got a shot on the net that was tipped away by Patriots goalkeeper Jakob Hurst.
