Blackman's boys defeated Oakland 52-34 Tuesday in the District 7-AAA boys' tournament championship game.
The 18-point victory put an exclamation on an impressive district season.
"It's big to win this one," said Blackman star and tournament MVP Donovan Sims, an MTSU signee. "We get to play at home in a comfortable environment. We know from previous years how important it is to play (the first regional game) at home, with our fans here and stuff like that."
Blackman coach Barry Wortman won District Coach of the Year honors in leading his squad to its fifth district title in six years.
