SMYRNA -- Blackman's baseball team pulled out the broom on Thursday night, sweeping a double-header (4-0 and 12-0) over Smyrna.
With the victories, the Blaze remained in first place in District 7 play at 13-2 -- one-half game ahead of second place Stewarts Creek (14-4).
Pitcher Zavien Lindsey got the win in the opener, only allowing two hits that weren't given up until the final inning.
"I put the ball in play and let my defense work," Lindsey said. "It was exciting. It was my first shutout this year and it's going to give me confidence in going into next week.
