MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee freshman continued to accumulate awards and had two more bestowed upon him Tuesday, including National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) National Player of the Week.
It marks the second national player of the week for Benefield in as many days and the fourth individual honor this week. The heralded left fielder was also named Tennessee Sports Writers Player of the Week Tuesday. He was honored as the C-USA Hitter of the Week and Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week Monday following his remarkable offensive prowess in four games last week.
