MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Aaron Antonini was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 18th round of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Antonini was with his family and friends at his home in Hollywood, Fla. when he was selected.
"When I heard my name called it was a dream come true," Antonini said. "I was on the phone with the scout who was congratulating me on becoming a Cardinal."
Antonini's hard work last offseason paid dividends this spring as the junior catcher was one of the most consistent bats in the Blue Raiders lineup, even while starting 54 games behind the plate.
