DALLAS – Freshman Alaba Akintola and graduate student Eusila Chepkemei are taking home their third and fourth combined Conference USA Athlete of the Week honors of the outdoor season for their performances during the Indiana Invitational and Georgia Tech Invite, Friday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 23rd.
Akintola competed in the men's 200 meter and 4x100 at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday, April 23. Akintola took second behind the nation's leader in the 200 meter with a program-record time of 20.34 seconds (-0.9). His new personal-best erases a 28-year-old mark set in 1994 by Roland McGhee.
