MURFREESBORO – On Saturday for the Middle Tennessee-Florida Atlantic football game at Floyd Stadium, the Blue Raiders will honor the 2006 Motor City Bowl team. The group will serve as Honorary Captains and will accompany the game captains to mid-field for the pre-game coin toss.
The 2006 Blue Raiders was the first team for current Head Coach and the first team to compete in an FBS bowl game. The 2006 squad were crowned as Co-Champions of the Sun Belt Conference and Stockstill earned Coach of the Year accolades.
During the 2006 championship run, the Blue Raiders produced an All-American, 11 all-conference players, 11 SBC Player of the Week winners, a consensus National Defensive Player of the Week, and the school's all-time sack leader.
