KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan football team continues to climb in the national football polls following a 41-0 win at Akron on Saturday to improve to 7-0 overall. The Broncos moved up three spots and are now No. 20 in the Amway/USA Today Coaches Poll.
Western Michigan has started 7-0 for the first time since 1941. Western Michigan also recorded its first shutout since 2006, which was also against Akron. This start includes wins over Big Ten Conference teams Northwestern and Illinois, giving the Broncos two wins over Power 5 schools for the first time in team history.
