The Western Michigan Broncos followed up their headline-grabbing 2016 season by captivating the nation last weekend against the USC Trojans. And even though the Broncos couldn’t pull the upset, they did announce to the college football universe that life after PJ Fleck would still be something to keep an eye on.
Cross-state rivalries are by their nature must watch if only for the odd things that tend to happen when emotions and feelings get involved. This game is certainly that. Throw in the fact that the talent gap is likely smaller than it has ever been and it is not unrealistic to think an upset could be in the cards.
