The first game of the Akron/Kent State rivalry series came down to the final seconds as the Golden Flashes pulled out a one-point, 68-67, victory over the Zips at the M.A.C. Center last Friday. Akron (16-6, 6-3 MAC) had four players reach double figures in scoring with junior Loren Cristian Jackson leading the way with 19 points. Seniors Xeyrius Williams and Tyler Cheese followed with 15 points each. Williams captured his ninth double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds while dishing out four assists.
