The University of Akron Track and Field team garnered a trio of berths into the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on the opening day of the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Thursday, May 23, as seniors Jordan Latimer and Matt Ludwig and junior Matt Keim punched their tickets to Austin, Texas.

Battling some of the toughest competition in the country, Ball State track and field sprinters Bryeana Byrdsong and MaQuila Norman turned in a pair of strong performances Thursday evening in the first round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Championships held at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
