Western Michigan has been improving on the season, but it still hasn’t quite put it all together. It seems like when the freshman are scoring, the veterans are not, and when the veterans are scoring, the freshman are not.
It’s a shame, because the pieces are there. As their close loss at Akron showed, they are capable of beating anyone in this league. In that game, it was typical Western Michigan this season. The pair of talented freshman, Reggie Jones and Brandon Johnson, had a great first half. The veterans Thomas Wilder and Tucker Haymond had a good second half.
