MUNCIE, Indiana - After one day of competition, there is a tie at the top of each leaderboard at the 2019 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Akron and Eastern Michigan accumulated 29 points, to sit on top of the men's team standings after two event finals.

On the women's side, Akron and Central Michigan share the top spot with 29 points through four events.

Bowling Green's Kaila Butler claimed the first title of the 2019 championships, with a loft of 63.94m (209'9") in the women's hammer throw.
