Toledo's Sam Shutes, Baseball (Senior, Civil Engineering, 3.850)
Senior Sam Shutes led the Rockets to their 3-0 victory at Western Michigan on Saturday. He tossed a career-high 8.1 shutout innings against the Broncos, striking out eight while allowing just five hits and one walk. It was the fifth start of Shutes’ career where he threw at least five shutout innings and the second in the last month (3/4 vs. Sacred Heart). Shutes is now 4-0 and tied atop the MAC for most wins.
