Report: NIU linebacker Kyle Pugh out for season due to ruptured bicep tendon

The road to Detroit just got a little tougher for the Northern Illinois Huskies.

It was announced yesterday that sophomore linebacker Kyle Pugh will undergo surgery today to repair a ruptured bicep tendon and will miss the rest of the year. He suffered the injury in last Saturday’s games against the #19 San Diego State Aztecs.

The news was first reported by the Daily-Chronicle’s Josh Tolentino.

Pugh tore his bicep in the fourth quarter when he attempted to tackle SDSU running back Rashaad Penny. Amazingly, he stayed in for the rest of the drive before leaving the field.
