Report: Mid-American Conference cancelling fall football, with intention to return in spring

In a dramtic turn of events which will surely cause ripples across the NCAA landscape, the Mid-American Conference is reportedly set to cancel the fall football season, with the intention of returning in the spring.

The news was first reported by Stadium’s Brett McMurphy via Twitter.

The MAC would be the first FBS conference to move to a spring timeline for football, with the other nine peer conferences deciding on various, fall-based schedules over the months of July and August.

All eyes were on the MAC this week, as they were the last FBS-level conference to formally announce their intentions for the 2020 season.
