Recap: Ball State stuffs Western Michigan 2-point conversion to win 42-41 in OT

Tensions were high, and a critical decision awaited. Western Michigan head coach called a timeout before continuing to go forward with a bold decision.

After quarterback Kaleb Eleby faked a handoff and scrambled into the end zone in overtime, the Broncos were out for blood. Kicking the extra point wasn’t an option — they wanted to win. The team regrouped and took the turf at Scheumann Stadium following the timeout. Eleby took the snap in shotgun, handed the ball to his running back LeVante Bellamy, and instances later, the play combusted.

Bellamy was stuffed by Ball State at the line of scrimmage on the up-the-gut run, due largely in part to the Cardinals stacking the box.
