Parks, Chevrier Pedal No. 1 RedHawks Back to Championship

AKRON, Ohio -- Junior Lea Chevrier recorded five innings of no-hit softball on Friday night while senior Chloe Parks tallied five total RBI's to send the No. 1 seed Miami RedHawks to tomorrow's MAC Softball Championship. The RedHawks secured an 8-0 victory over the No. 4 Ball State Cardinals.

Miami took an early advantage as Parks powered a two-run homer over the wall in right-centerfield for a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Junior Danzita Hernandez followed suit one inning later, crushing her own two-run bomb to make it 4-0, RedHawks.

Parks then delivered an RBI-triple with the bases loaded in the fourth inning to push Miami to an eight-run lead, giving way for Chevrier to close things out in the top of the fifth in order.
