The Women’s National Invitational Tournament unveiled their selections on Monday evening, with the regular-season champion Bowling Green Falcons and tournament #3 seed Ohio Bobcats tabbed to represent the Mid-American Conference in the independent postseason tournament.
BGSU qualified for the WNIT by virtue of their winning the regular-season title, which creates an automatic qualifier spot if said team loses in the postseason, while Ohio was selected as an at-large bid.
BGSU will be one of only four teams in the tournament to cross the 20-win threshold, as COVID protocols affected a vast majority of the teams invited to this season’s bracket.
