DAYTON, Ohio – Junior Jan Maertins (Rheinfelden, Germany/Marquette) scored his first goal of the season but the Northern Illinois University men's soccer team fell to Dayton, 2-1, on Monday evening (Sept. 9) at Baujan Field.
Dayton scored first before Maertins equalized in the 37th minute, only to see the Flyers net the winning goal a quarter-hour from time.
"It was a frustrating game," said NIU head coach Ryan Swan.
