LOUISVILLE, Ky. – 104 Mid-American Conference softball student-athletes were named 2016-17 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division I Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced.
Kent State led the MAC with 17 student-athletes named, tying Harvard and Grand Canyon for second most in Division I, while Bowling Green had the second most with 14.
The NFCA announce that a record 7,365 softball players across seven membership divisions earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year. NCAA Division I led the way with 1,843 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.
To qualify for NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of 3.
