Miami’s 2017 class got a little bit longer on Tuesday afternoon with the addition of Hamilton Heights (IN) athlete Sterling Weatherford. Weatherford, a two-star prospect per Scout, stands at 6’5” and 205 pounds and looks to be an intriguing developmental player as he runs a 4.5 40-yard dash as well.
Weatherford held four offers in addition to Miami, a group that includes Ball State, Davidson, North Dakota, and Western Illinois. He plays basketball as well, which is a nice asset to have as a skill player, especially as a defensive back. Judging from his Hudl film (which you can see below), you love his ability to strike people from the safety position but he’s raw in coverage.
