Marcus Keene may not be leaving Mt. Pleasant so fast after all.

Keene took to Instagram Wednesday morning to refute reports from the Associated Press and the Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun’s Nate J. Schneider that he was declaring for the NBA Draft early.

Keene, a junior who transferred from Youngstown State, was the first player in 20 years to average 30 points per game in Division I in 2016-2017 and set multiple scoring records both for the university and the conference, scoring 958 points.

Keene scored above 40 points seven times in the 2016-2017 campaign, a single-season record that surpassed Steph Curry and Jimmer Fredette’s record of 6 during their respective college careers.
