MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich -- Central Michigan announced on Thursday that Christine MacDonald has been selected as the new head coach of the gymnastics program.

MacDonald recently completed her 25th season as a member of the CMU coaching staff after being a student-athlete for the Chippewas from 1988-91 and a student coach in 1992. During her time at Central Michigan, MacDonald has been a part of 15 Mid-American Conference Championships and 16 NCAA Regional Championship appearances.

"After an extensive search, it was clear that Christine's the right person to lead this program and return it to a top-25 program," Zyzelewski Family Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Michael Alford said.
