MAC Cross Country Championships Qualifiers

NCAA Official Qualifiers

Indianapolis, Ind. - The No. 13 Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team received an at-large bid to the upcoming NCAA Championships, today, Nov. 12, the NCAA announced. The honor comes one day after the Eagles took home a fifth-place finish at the very tough NCAA Great Lakes Regional, Nov. 11.

Northern Illinois' Hope Schmelzle became the school's first ever NCAA National Championship qualifier at the Ashton Cross Country Course. Schmelzle broke the school's previous six kilometer record of 20:27.8 set by junior Kelsey Hildreth (Byron, Ill./Byron) during the 2015 season with her third place 20:16.
