MAC Women’s Singles Tennis Player of the Week
Sophia Geier, Akron – Junior, Burgebrach, Germany (Clavius Gymnasium Bamberg)
Akron junior Sophia Geier (27-3 overall, 5-1 MAC) captured two wins at No. 1 singles in MAC play last week. After dropping the first set, Geier rebounded to defeat Northern Illinois’ Adey Osabuohien, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3, on Friday. At Western Michigan on Sunday, Geier picked up her fifth MAC win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Melina Lyubomirova. Overall, Geier is 27-3 in singles and, including 20-2 this spring.
