Offensive Player of the Week
Lexi Pelafas, Central Michigan, Sophomore, Forward
Sophomore forward Lexi Pelafas etched her name in the Central Michigan record book on Sunday, netting both goals in the Chippewas’ 2-1 double overtime win over Ohio to become the program’s all-time leader in single season goals scored. In the 63rd minute, Pelafas tied the record with her 14th goal of the season, heading in a long cross from the far wing to provide CMU with a 1-0 lead. The record breaker and game winner came in the 105th minute in dramatic fashion, as Pelafas made a brilliant run on net, received an entry pass from near midfield, muscled past a defender, juked the goalkeeper and put the ball in an empty net.
