Michael VanDeventer earned his first collegiate victory, sharing medalist honors at the Earl Yestingsmeier Memorial Invitational. His 2-under-par total of 208 for the tournament ranks sixth on Ball State's all-time list of 54-hole scores. VanDeventer closed with the lowest final round of any player in the field, a career-best 67, to overcome a five-shot deficit entering the day. He made an eagle and three birdies en route to a front-nine 31 to charge to the top of the leaderboard. VanDeventer led Ball State to a runner-up finish in the field of 13 teams at Delaware Country Club.
