MAC Men’s Basketball East Division Player of the Week
Isaiah Johnson, Akron, Center

Johnson had a big week, leading the Akron Zips to the 2016 Savannah Invitational Championship. Akron defeated Georgia Southern, Air Force and Mercer to claim the inaugural title as Johnson was awarded the tournament’s Most Valuable Player honor. Johnson led the Zips’ scoring efforts in all three games, pouring in 20 points against Georgia Southern on an 8-of-9 effort from the field for an 88.9 shooting percentage. He added four rebounds, three assists, and a block in the 75-67 win.
