PISCATAWAY, N. J. - Redshirt senior Michelle Shampton scored the lone goal for the Cardinals this afternoon but it wasn't enough, as Ball State would drop its season opener by a score of 4-1 at No. 19 Rutgers Saturday at the Bauer Track/Field Hockey Complex.
Shampton continues to be a strong asset to the Cardinals offensively, scoring her first goal of the season off of a carry in shot from the right side of the Rutgers goalie which occurred at the 28:48 mark in the second quarter of play.
