BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo defensive end Malcolm Koonce was selected 79th overall in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday night.
Koonce is the second highest drafted UB football player in the modern era of the NFL Draft. Only Khalil Mack, taken fifth overall in 2014, also by the Raiders, was picked sooner. Koonce is the 14th UB football player picked in the draft and first since 2017.
Koonce was a first-team All-MAC selection each of the last two seasons.
