KENT, Ohio – Kent State University golfers Pimnipa Panthong and Ian Holt were each named All-Americans by Golfweek, as announced this week.
Freshman Panthong was named to the second team, while Holt received an honorable mention. Of all honorees, the Golden Flash duo were two of nine golfers honored from non "Power 5" conferences.
Panthong finished her first collegiate season by earning MAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors. Panthong led the nation with 139 birdies in 2016-17. Her scoring average of 71.49 is a new program record and one of the 20 best scoring averages in NCAA Division I history.
