AKRON, Ohio -- No. 4 Kent State defeated No. 8 Western Michigan, 9-3, as the Golden Flashes advanced in the winner's bracket at the 2017 MAC Softball Championshp at Firestone Stadium.

With the win, Kent State will take on the winner of the No. 2 Ohio/No. 3 NIU game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. The Broncos will face the No. 6 Miami/No. 7 Akron loser in an elimination contest at 1 p.
