Kent State Claims Win Over Vikings At Thanksgiving Throwdown

Kent State moved to 6-1 on the season Tuesday night, splitting a pair of dual meets at the second annual Thanksgiving Throwdown. The Golden Flashes earned a convincing 36-9 victory over Cleveland State at St. John Arena and fell to No. 2 Ohio State 38-9.

Senior Will Bardezbain (125) and sophomore Tim Rooney (141) each went 2-0 on the night, while junior Kyle Conel (197) won his only match.

Bardezbain led the night off with a first period pin of Cleveland State's Cameron Lathem. He then put up six points in the first period against Ohio State's Braken Mead and came away with a 10-5 victory.
