The Chippewas appear to have found a replacement for one of their two vacant guard spots after the departures of Marcus Keene (NBA Draft) and Braylon Rayson (graduation.)
Shawn Roundtree, a six-foot-one guard out of Edwardsville, Missouri, signed with the Chippewas Thursday morning. The Mineral Area (MO) Community College guard averaged 10 points, two rebounds and three assists per game, and was instrumental in leading Mineral Area to a top-ten national NJCCA ranking.
Roundtree was formerly a Missouri State signee, logging 30 appearances and two starts with the school as a true freshman before transferring.
Roundtree was known as a good all-around shooter, making 50 percent of his overall shots and shotting at a 38.
