CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference named Joe Stewart the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for his strong performance on the track and in the classroom last week.
On the track, Stewart opened up his senior outdoor season at the Stanford Invitational in the 10,000m rising to the challenge of a field packed with the best of collegiate distance running and elite post collegiate athletes. The reigning MAC 10,000m champion posted a time of 29:03.79 to take 11th overall. Stewart's time is the 8th fastest 10,000m in NCAA Division I this season, leads the MAC and is the second fastest time in Miami history.
