DeKALB, Ill. – With an announcement on Thursday from the College Sports Information Directors Association, Emily Naegele of the Northern Illinois University softball team became the first player in program history to earn a second recognition as Academic All-District.
Naegele (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) was named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District 5 for the second consecutive season as the only catcher to earn a spot among the 2016 honorees, which featured nominees from all Division I softball programs from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
