MAC Softball Player of the Week Carley Goetschius led the way for NIU during their 3-2 performance at the FGCU Invitational to open the 2021 season. The Huskie junior batted .429 and slugged .714, pounding out six hits in 14 at bats, including a double and a home run. She went 2-for-3 in a 4-1 win over the host Eagles for NIU's first win of the season and was 1-for-2 with a double in a 1-0 victory over FIU in the first game of day two of the tournament.
