AVON, Ohio -- Early offense and a solid pitching performance by Jared Skolnicki pushes No. 1 Kent State past No. 8 Toledo, 6-3, and into the next round of the MAC Baseball Tournament Friday evening at Sprenger Stadium.

Kent State grabbed an early lead in the bottom of the first inning scoring three runs headlined by a Pete Schuler RBI double that brought in Dylan Rosa and Luke Burch to make it 3-0.

Each team put zeros on the board until the fifth inning when Dylan Rosa sent a solo home run to left field, his second of the tournament, to bolster the Kent State lead to 4-0 after five.
