Former EMU Golfer Michael Blair Wins PGA Canada’s Mackenzie Tour Event

CARDIGAN, P.E.I. (EMUEagles.com) — Former Eastern Michigan University men's golfer Michael Blair (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada-Nelson-Pfeiffer) notched a birdie on the first playoff hole to win the Mackenzie Tour/PGA TOUR Canada's Prince Edward Island Open. Blair fired rounds of 69, 66, 73, and 71 for a nine-under 279 to force a playoff with Maxwell Sear at Dundarave Golf Course.

Blair regained the lead on 18, but Sear came up big under pressure with a delicate chip to five feet and a putt to force the playoff.

Blair, who graduated from EMU in the spring of 2015, previously worked part-time in Ancaster as a Hostess Frito-Lay chip truck delivery driver for 18 months.
