YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Fred Castro, an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Washington for the past three years, has been named the new head women's basketball coach at Eastern Michigan University, Vice President/Director of Athletics Heather Lyke announced today, May 5. Castro will officially be introduced and address the media and campus community at a press conference on Monday, May 9, at 11 a.m. inside University House on the EMU campus.
A rising star in the coaching world, the 36-year old Castro has spent the past 15 years climbing the ranks from student manager to now the eighth head coach in EMU program history.
